DIY Seashell Candles tutorial: https://domesticallyblissful.com/diy-seashell-candles/ I had so much fun making these DIY Seashell Candles, but I didn’t get it right the first time. My original plan for these DIY Seashell Candles was to place a tea light candle in the center of each shell and then pour additional melted hot candle wax over and around it. But that did not work! I think it would have if the shells had been deeper, but because these were shallow shells the center tea light candle ended up being well above the wax puddle around it. So I decided to start over. Thankfully I had 3 shells left and plenty of candles. The next challenge was the wick, which I had hoped I would be able to simply pull out from the base of the candle, but the wax was melted around and under the metal candle wick sustainer tab (that little metal piece that holds the wick in place at the bottom of the candle). So to make it easy on myself I just melted the whole tea light candle. Then once it was all melted I just pulled the metal tabs and wicks out and placed the wick back in the metal tabs. From there it was smooth sailing. (Like my ocean pun?) I thought about adding a scent to the candles, but since I don’t know enough about essential oils I decided to leave these as is. And now that I’ve shared 3 seashell tutorials this summer I’d love to hear your thoughts. Which one is your favorite? The DIY Seashell (napkin) Trinket Dish, the DIY Seashell Hair Pins, or these DIY Seashell Candles? LTKHome LTKTravel LTKVideo
