Please excuse the gum chewing… 😬 while the teens were doing what teens do at the mall, I headed to @cpk for spinach artichoke dip and a glass of Sav Blanc and was trying to remove the effects while embarrassing my kid in Urban Outfitters filming my OOTD while lip syncing to One Direction…

We braved the mall before Christmas and survived to tell the tale. I dressed for function not fashion in comfortable clothes that wouldn’t get destroyed from try ons and wouldn’t have this perimenopausal mama overheat.

Braved the crowds at the mall to be a chauffeur for teens and pick up a few stocking stuffers.

Sweater is XXL but a couple of years old and has been through the dryer once or twice. Still for sale and linked here.

Pants are new; went with 16 petite. I always bring a big leather tote to the mall so I don’t need shopping bags and it doubles as my purse.

These clogs are so comfy right out the box; I wear with striped wool socks. I wore them to the mall to make potential fitting room try-ons easier.

Gold feels like an obvious choice with gold which is why I went with silver. It’s good to switch it up; it often increases your style quotient!

Today is rainy and gray and I just felt like some denim on denim and comfy clogs. It’s actually a long chain necklace I just hooked on the chain instead of the clasp and turned it around! This long wool peacoat from Ann Taylor was perfect on a very cold and windy day. With hand warmer pockets and deep flap pockets, double breasted with a collar I could stand up to the wind, and a dense wool blend and long length I was protected and comfortable. Night 1 on an influencer tourism trip: dinner at a lovely restaurant followed by a Festival of Lights on a bitterly cold and windy night. I wore my Christopher John Rogers x J.Crew dress (I’m 5’3”, this is an XL) with ankle booties and wool tights and insulated insoles, and this long pea coat is warm and has deep pockets for phone etc. and smaller hand warming pockets! Not seen are my matching red leather gloves and I had a black beret in the car in case it was needed. I had like 6 minutes to dress for the night; oh the power of a red lipstick I found in my purse from the last time I used it!
