Please excuse the gum chewing… 😬 while the teens were doing what teens do at the mall, I headed to @cpk for spinach artichoke dip and a glass of Sav Blanc and was trying to remove the effects while embarrassing my kid in Urban Outfitters filming my OOTD while lip syncing to One Direction…

We braved the mall before Christmas and survived to tell the tale. I dressed for function not fashion in comfortable clothes that wouldn’t get destroyed from try ons and wouldn’t have this perimenopausal mama overheat.

This long wool peacoat from Ann Taylor was perfect on a very cold and windy day. With hand warmer pockets and deep flap pockets, double breasted with a collar I could stand up to the wind, and a dense wool blend and long length I was protected and comfortable. I’m wearing 16 petite; I’ve also linked all the winter accessories I wore with this coat over my getaway.

Something old, something new, all styled with denim of blue… blouse and coat are Ann Taylor. Coat still available, blouse was on clearance but I linked to similar. Jeans are 14, coat 16 petite. Scarf if vintage (belonged to my dad) but I linked to similar.

Color me OBSESSED! I visited my local @talbotsofficial to check out the Cyber Monday sale of 50% off and fell in love with the Talbots Confetti Plaid coat and matching a-line skirt. Talk about classic modern style; this is chic now and will remain chic for years to come.

I am 5’3” and a 14/16 and found the XLP coat (it comes in Misses, Petite, Plus Size, and Plus Petite) and the skirt in 16P (it comes in Misses, Petite, and Plus) fit me best.
