Excuse the hat head, I’m trying to figure out looks for an upcoming brand trip. I think I’d like this better with dark wash or rinse jeans but I don’t have any that fit right now (that fluctuating midlife body!). Please excuse the gum chewing… 😬 while the teens were doing what teens do at the mall, I headed to @cpk for spinach artichoke dip and a glass of Sav Blanc and was trying to remove the effects while embarrassing my kid in Urban Outfitters filming my OOTD while lip syncing to One Direction…

We braved the mall before Christmas and survived to tell the tale. I dressed for function not fashion in comfortable clothes that wouldn’t get destroyed from try ons and wouldn’t have this perimenopausal mama overheat.

This long wool peacoat from Ann Taylor was perfect on a very cold and windy day. With hand warmer pockets and deep flap pockets, double breasted with a collar I could stand up to the wind, and a dense wool blend and long length I was protected and comfortable. I’m wearing 16 petite; I’ve also linked all the winter accessories I wore with this coat over my getaway.

From matching family pajamas to travel, those who sleep hot and those who love washable everyday elegance, I can’t recommend these Printfresh pajamas enough. So soft, washable, cooling, size inclusive, ethical, and a great range of prints and matching robes etc. if in doubt size down; I am wearing XL and had to cinch the waistband to keep them up and they don’t shrink in the laundry.

It is NOT easy to find size-inclusive jewelry and stylish rings over a size 8. This Remi ring from Ana Luisa always gets comments and compliments from strangers asking where I got it. It is 14K gold over brass. Night 1 on an influencer tourism trip: dinner at a lovely restaurant followed by a Festival of Lights on a bitterly cold and windy night. I wore my Christopher John Rogers x J.Crew dress (I’m 5’3”, this is an XL) with ankle booties and wool tights and insulated insoles, and this long pea coat is warm and has deep pockets for phone etc. and smaller hand warming pockets! Not seen are my matching red leather gloves and I had a black beret in the car in case it was needed. I had like 6 minutes to dress for the night; oh the power of a red lipstick I found in my purse from the last time I used it!
