Yes I’m the overdressed mom at the piano recital. #noshame I got this @loft stretch velvet dress and wanted an excuse to wear it. Misses and Petite, it has a back hidden zipper, subtly elasticized waist, and a bit of ruching at one hip to create some movement and curve. I’m wearing 16 petite. The tights are from Snag but I have others I love that I’ve linked. The earrings are @explorerealm Bag is vintage Balenciaga, and the @roshonmerson boots are so old I’d say they too are vintage. In high school I saw a woman on a soap opera in a silk blouse that looked like a stained glass window and it was all shades of blue, purple, and green. I have wanted a similar blouse ever since. I’ve bought a few over the years that had a similar vibe but this one from Boden is almost an exact match! Obsessed!

I paired it with an old pair of navy satin pants from Universal Standard though this blouse would also work with black.

Texas tuxedo? Or is it a Canadian tuxedo? Whatever it is, I love wearing denim on denim. No need to be matchy matchy, play with washes and finishes. I’ve had this Levi’s western shirt for years and liked the contrast with these bleached out faded wide leg jeans from Lands’s End. Today is rainy and gray and I just felt like some denim on denim and comfy clogs. The jeans are 14 petite, the shirt XL, only the silver pendant necklace is available for purchase but I linked to a few similar pieces. As for the lariat necklace? It’s actually a long chain necklace I just hooked on the chain instead of the clasp and turned it around! This long wool peacoat from Ann Taylor was perfect on a very cold and windy day. With hand warmer pockets and deep flap pockets, double breasted with a collar I could stand up to the wind, and a dense wool blend and long length I was protected and comfortable. Night 1 on an influencer tourism trip: dinner at a lovely restaurant followed by a Festival of Lights on a bitterly cold and windy night. I wore my Christopher John Rogers x J.Crew dress (I’m 5’3”, this is an XL) with ankle booties and wool tights and insulated insoles, and this long pea coat is warm and has deep pockets for phone etc. and smaller hand warming pockets! Not seen are my matching red leather gloves and I had a black beret in the car in case it was needed. I had like 6 minutes to dress for the night; oh the power of a red lipstick I found in my purse from the last time I used it!
