If you find a soft, drapey (that’s a word now) chambray shirt that snaps, snatch it up! I got this one during the Nordstrom sale and now it’s over at Nordstrom Rack! This shirt goes with EVERYTHING, even knit wide leg cargo pants. I added a pair of faux suede loafers in raspberry pink for a pop of color (they do come in lots of neutral colors as well) and now I have a very casual outfit that doesn’t look sloppy.

It’s a before and after post featuring my new fall/winter coat from Spanx and my new tote from Walmart. The first pic was taken as I was leaving for my hair appointment and the second is right afterward when I got home. Is there any better day than a hair day?! I’m still growing out some layers and we decided to see if I can grow it out longer for a bit.

The faux leather accents are also a nice touch and I wanted a jacket that covered my rear end. This isn’t much of an outfit post but I have linked what I’m wearing in case you were curious what to wear to a chilly outdoor event! If you have any reason to be in San Antonio at night now through January 15th, you MUST get tickets to see the lights exhibit at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. This is our second year going and it’s absolutely magical and breathtaking. I’m sharing just a taste-it takes at least an hour to walk through and these light exhibits are on a huge scale-most are as tall as us!! They also have places along the trail to get hot cocoa, snacks and adult beverages and a s’more roasting station too! It’s an experience you don’t want to miss!

Recently went to our local outdoor mall and the holiday decorations are so pretty! It also helped that it as 75° out and sunny-it was a great spot to get my steps in!! I love wearing dresses because they’re a one and done outfit, but even in San Antonio it gets COLD! I wore these fleece lined tights for the first time and they worked like a charm-I was toasty warm! You could also add a cashmere tee underneath for even more warmth. Style tips: ditch the belt that comes with the dress, cut off the string loops and add your own belt AND be sure to unbutton the bottom couple of bottoms to give the dress some more movement.

Sharing a few behind the scenes pictures of getting the outfit shot. It was a grey, chilly day and I wanted to be cozy for our brunch date, then a run to some local stores to find gifts for our Angel Tree recipient. Her wish list, in this order, was a winter coat (that broke my heart), art supplies and a Barbie. We got everything checked off her list and then went home to film an Amazon haul-and this outfit just happens to be Amazon from head to toe!

I layered one of my favorite waffle knit sets over a basic tee, then layered that under a khaki coatigan to break up all the black. Added my faux suede loafers and Riley handbag and it was a look I really liked! I think this would make a great travel outfit too! When you’re going somewhere casual but you’re not sure if the occasion calls for something a little “more”, a great tip is to throw a blazer over a basic tee and jeans. Voila! Sharing my Thanksgiving Day outfit with you because it works for lots of winter events you may have coming up. The dress is a short sleeve velvet that comes in so many beautiful colors and has a very forgiving elastic waist (note no pockets & size S). Beige and cream basics for a family outing to one of my favorite spots in San Antonio-The Historic Pearl. The outfit shots were taken in a newer section near the new Pullman Market and it’s beautiful in a very different way from the last slide, which is the river walk behind Hotel Emma. The whole property is magical and a must see-all year round!

My sweater is a new find from Aritzia. It’s an oversized cable knit and it’s SO soft! Wearing a size XS. Jeans and coat are old favorites-I’ve linked the most current versions. I didn’t think I’d love the new platform style of Uggs but they grew on me-and they kept my toes toasty!
