This simple healing honey latte is one of my favorite healing drinks between meals for mommas. It’s soothing, warming and the chamomile just feels like the perfect anytime indulgence. 🌼

🍯 A part of my Momma Lattes with Meg series:

PREP TIME: 10 minutes COOK TIME: 10 minutes TOTAL TIME: 20 minutes SERVINGS: 3

INGREDIENTS

* 4 cups filtered water
* 6 tablespoons dried organic chamomile
* 4 tablespoons raw honey
* 1 cup coconut, almond or cow milk

DIRECTIONS

Bring water to a boil. Add chamomile to a heat proof jar and pour in boiling water. Allow to steep for 5 minutes. Strain into a container to cool. Add honey and set aside to cool to warm or room temperature. When ready for your latte, warm up chamomile and add 1 cup of steamed milk. Stir and enjoy warmed.

When our minds are filled with things that need to be done, our bodies are healing after birth AND our babies need to be held, we feel touched out. We feel overwhelmed. And that makes sense. More on this below ⬇️

Did you know: Our babies hold a special power of healing. ✨ There are so many benefits to holding your baby for their needs and healing of course, but did you know how beneficial it is for you as a mother?

✨ Increased oxytocin: that good good feeling🥹

✨ Connected with your own needs: when we give to our babies, we are more aware of the need for our own cups to be filled.

✨ Cozy energy: momma’s are often more willing to sit, lay down and rest with babies are snuggly on them.

✨Understanding of your baby’s cues: the more we are near our babies, the more we notice what they are communicating

🧺My Doula Basket Tip: try these ways to preparing yourself for postpartum so you can access this healing support

1. Share with family, friends and partner about your needs to snuggle with your baby.
2. ✨Allow✨(meaning release the guilt, shame and control) these ones to do the things around you so you can rest
3. Hire a doula 🤍
4. Create a very minimal clean space to rest with your baby, you will want to be in that space if it’s cozy
5. Be reasonable with your expectations of how much you can hold baby, one day at a time
