😍Today we’re talking about the iconic Parisian avenue famous around the world that’s a must-see for any Paris visitor.

THE CHAMPS-ELYSEES NEIGHBORHOOD IS FOR YOU IF YOU LIKE:
🛍️ Luxury shopping
🤩 Historic Landmarks
🌳 Strolling, staying, or dining at the most beautiful avenue in the world

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
🏛️The Arc de Triomphe

📌 HOW TO SPEND THE PERFECT DAY IN THE CHAMPS-ELYSEES NEIGHBORHOOD:

1️⃣Start at the Arc de Triomphe before it gets more crowded. This famous arch and terrifying traffic circle was commissioned by Emperor Napoleon and inspired by ancient Roman arches.

2️⃣Stroll or shop along the Avenue des Champs-Elysees. You’ll find worldwide chain stores like Zara, Gap, and Sephora in addition to upscale names, including Louis Vuitton, Cartier, and more.

3️⃣ Make your way to Place de la Concorde - A public square that was the site of many notable public guillotine executions, including Louis XVI & Marie Antoinette.

4️⃣Grand Palais and Petit Palais - The splendid geometrical glass rooftops of the Grand and Petit Palais were built for the Universal Exposition of 1900.

Pros: Luxurious, high end couture shops
Cons: crowded, touristy, expensive area that’s not as local

⭐️This is not where I’d personally recommend dining or staying, as it is a very touristy/expensive area, unless you really want to be close to the Champs for a shopping spree.

Here’s What to Skip in Paris and What to Do Instead:

❌The Louvre - There are crazy long lines and even once you’re inside it’s super crowded, making for a not very enjoyable experience. Unless it’s high on your bucket list I recommend….

✅Musee de l’Orangerie - This museum is much smaller but still lovely and it’s the place where you can admire Monet’s water lilies and other impressionist paintings 🖼️🎨

❌Angelina - while it’s popular on social media, if you want to go here you’ll be in the longest lines ever. Instead I recommend…

✅A local patisserie where you can enjoy desserts and treats just as delicious without the wait 🥐

❌ Shopping on the Champs-Élysées - unless you have in mind picking up a designer item specifically, skip shopping here and instead…

✅Shop and stroll along the streets of Ile Saint-Louis for a way more local and authentic experience

❌Tuileries Garden - This garden is right by the louvre and as such it’s very touristy. For more of a chill garden day instead go to….

✅Jardin du Luxembourg for more of a local feel and a delicious picnic 💐

❌Eating at any restaurant near a tourist location - please don’t do this!! Instead eat at…

✅Local cafes where you will find MUCH better prices and better food

Explore the vibrant city center. You can’t miss dinner at Sushi Social - the most delicious meal you’ll have in Reykjavik - and maybe all of Iceland!

📍Stop 2: Thingvellir National Park
Take in the breathtaking scenery and snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of Silfra between two tectonic plates (if you can brave COLD water)! 🤿

📍Stop 3: Stargaze & Watch for the Northern Lights from a Bubble Hotel!
This was one of the coolest places we’ve stayed! It’s such a unique stay sleeping under the stars! And 2025 is one of the best years to spot Northern Lights!!🌌

📍Stop 4: Seljalandsfoss
Hike behind the waterfall and bring a rain jacket and rain pants because you’ll get wet!! 💦

📍Stop 5: Skogafoss
Hike to the top up the many steps or enjoy this epic waterfall from super close up down below (or both)!

📍Stop 6: Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
Gaze in awe at the striking black basalt sand and dramatic sea stacks. But be very careful of the waves!

📍Stop 7: Fjadrargljufur Canyon 🏞️
Hike the beautiful canyon with jaw-dropping views! This is one of the most epic things we saw in Iceland! It feels like it’s out of a movie and is totally surreal!

📍Stop 8: Day 5: Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon ❄️
Enjoy a boat ride among the glaciers, spot adorable seals 🦭, and make your way to diamond beach!
