😍Today we’re talking about the iconic Parisian avenue famous around the world that’s a must-see for any Paris visitor.

THE CHAMPS-ELYSEES NEIGHBORHOOD IS FOR YOU IF YOU LIKE:
🛍️ Luxury shopping
🤩 Historic Landmarks
🌳 Strolling, staying, or dining at the most beautiful avenue in the world

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
🏛️The Arc de Triomphe
🛍️Shopping along the Champs-Elysees
🇫🇷Place de la Concorde
🪟 Grand Palais and Petit Palais

📌 HOW TO SPEND THE PERFECT DAY IN THE CHAMPS-ELYSEES NEIGHBORHOOD:

1️⃣Start at the Arc de Triomphe before it gets more crowded. This famous arch and terrifying traffic circle was commissioned by Emperor Napoleon and inspired by ancient Roman arches.

2️⃣Stroll or shop along the Avenue des Champs-Elysees. You’ll find worldwide chain stores like Zara, Gap, and Sephora in addition to upscale names, including Louis Vuitton, Cartier, and more.

3️⃣ Make your way to Place de la Concorde - A public square that was the site of many notable public guillotine executions, including Louis XVI & Marie Antoinette.

4️⃣Grand Palais and Petit Palais - The splendid geometrical glass rooftops of the Grand and Petit Palais were built for the Universal Exposition of 1900.

Pros: Luxurious, high end couture shops
Cons: crowded, touristy, expensive area that’s not as local

⭐️This is not where I’d personally recommend dining or staying, as it is a very touristy/expensive area, unless you really want to be close to the Champs for a shopping spree.

Here’s What to Skip in Paris and What to Do Instead:

❌The Louvre - There are crazy long lines and even once you’re inside it’s super crowded, making for a not very enjoyable experience. Unless it’s high on your bucket list I recommend….

✅Musee de l’Orangerie - This museum is much smaller but still lovely and it’s the place where you can admire Monet’s water lilies and other impressionist paintings 🖼️🎨

❌Angelina - while it’s popular on social media, if you want to go here you’ll be in the longest lines ever. Instead I recommend…

✅A local patisserie where you can enjoy desserts and treats just as delicious without the wait 🥐

❌ Shopping on the Champs-Élysées - unless you have in mind picking up a designer item specifically, skip shopping here and instead…

✅Shop and stroll along the streets of Ile Saint-Louis for a way more local and authentic experience

❌Tuileries Garden - This garden is right by the louvre and as such it’s very touristy. For more of a chill garden day instead go to….

✅Jardin du Luxembourg for more of a local feel and a delicious picnic 💐

❌Eating at any restaurant near a tourist location - please don’t do this!! Instead eat at…

✅Local cafes where you will find MUCH better prices and better food

🌅Visit the STUNNING Calanques National Park on a boat tour 🏞

After exploring the old town of Marseille, continue to Saint-Remy-de-Provence and stay overnight 🌙

DAY 3️⃣
⏰Explore the Roman architecture of Nimes and Pont du Gard, or visit Avignon, and/or Aix-en-Provence before returning to Marseille and taking a train to Villefranche-sur-mer! ☀️

DAY 4️⃣
🚊Catch the train to Monaco and explore before hopping on a train to Ventimiglia ITALY for lunch! Take the train back to Villefranche when you’re done exploring!

DAY 5️⃣
🧚Take the train to Cannes and Nice or relax on the waterfront in Villefranche or visit the fairytale-like town of Eze!

DAY 6️⃣
🌊Catch a train to Paris where you’ll pick up a car and drive to Versailles, where you’ll stay overnight.

DAY 7️⃣
⛲️Be the first to visit the palace of Versailles before heading in your car to Chateau de Chambord where you’ll stay overnight. This is the castle that inspired Beauty and the Beast!

DAY 8️⃣
🍷Visit Chenonceau and any other castles in the Loire Valley, have dinner in Amboise and enjoy a wine tasting.

DAY 9️⃣
🏰Wake up and explore Chambord before driving back to Paris where you’ll return your rental car and check in to your hotel.

🌅Explore Paris and don’t miss a picnic in Luxembourg Garden, Musee de la Orangerie, going up the Eiffel Tower, a river cruise on the Seine at sunset, and more.

🚢 Seine River Cruise -End your day with a scenic cruise along the Seine at sunset and see the Eiffel Tower illuminate and sparkle! (Comment “MORE” and we’ll send you our favorite Seine River Cruise!)

🟣Macarons from Laudrée - This is one of the most famous places to get this Parisian treat! It’s a must try and you can sample lots of delicious flavors!

🗼Seeing the Eiffel Tower Sparkle at Night - this is a MUST and you need to know THIS so you don’t miss it! The Eiffel Tower no longer lights up all night! Lights turn OFF at 11:45pm. The tower sparkles for 5 minutes at the top of every hour at night - so the last time to see it is 11pm! In summer it doesn’t get dark until late - so you may only catch it at 10 or 11pm so keep this in mind for planning!

☕️Dining at a local cafe - go at least 3 blocks away from tourist hot spots for more authentic and less expensive cuisine!

🗼Going up the Eiffel Tower! Don’t just admire it from the ground, go up for an unforgettable experience and epic views! (Comment “MORE” and we’ll send you info on how to go up the Eiffel Tower!)

🖼️Admiring Art at the Louvre - If you have a short trip or don’t want to brave the crowds/art isn’t your thing, at least admire the architecture of this iconic building.
