5 items I’m wearing in November 🍂

I try to use most of my capsule wardrobe year around. But these are 5 items that is working extra hard on their price per wear this month.

1. My buttery soft leather trousers by @theory__ . I love the texture of leather and especially matched with knitted items. It’s also really useful if you want to keep extra warm.

2. My cashmere jumper and brooch from @goelia_official . I use this brooch on all kinds of items, but it originally came with this lovely medium thick cashmere jumper.

3. My 90s @chanelofficial sling back I bought preloved on @vestiaireco for £100 (they just needed a little trip to the cobbler!)

4. My new bag from @songmont_official of course! It fills such a hole in my wardrobe both in size and in shade.

5. My cream unlined @reiss coat. It’s perfect for layering for the weather we have in the U.K. right now.

🤍Timelessness - what does it mean? 🤍

The word timeless is being thrown around a lot. But what does it actually mean in practice?

I personally use it for two purposes;

1. To describe an item that has a cut and shape that can stand the test of time. It’s not a part of a trend, even tho it can definitely fall into trend now and then.

It’s classic shapes that has been around for a long time and is still worn today without looking dated. It’s the backbone of fashion, the foundation all else is built from.

2. To describe an item that is timeless for you or me. Something we will want to use for a whole lifetime.

These items might not be as classic and as widely loved as the above, but they are genuinely true to your style and serves as the backbone of your personal wardrobe.

But for an item to be truly timeless, by both definitions, it needs to have the quality to last. An item in a timeless shape that will break is never a truly timeless piece.

Timelessness is closely intertwined with quality. The pieces in our wardrobe that has both are the most valuable items we own. They will allow us to look perfectly put together whilst at the same time saving us money by not having to buy the same item over and over again.

Why fashion is neither shallow nor unimportant. ☝🏻

An interest in fashion and clothes is often wrongly dismissed as vain and trivial.

One of the main points that these people are missing is non-verbal communication and the importance of matching our outside to our inside.

We shouldn’t care too much about what other people think about what we wear, but it’s worth considering if the story we tell with our clothes matches the one we feel on the inside.

This is easiest done with personal style. Putting some effort into figuring out what we truly love to wear, is never going to be a waste of time or energy.

If we feel confident and comfortable in what we wear, then we are more likely to relax and feel free to be ourselves.

And this does not mean that you have to be all dressy or fancy. It’s about being you.

Some people say they don’t care, and dress like they don’t care. So their look communicates exactly that.

Fashion is another type of expression, no matter how you choose to use it.

We are so lucky to have distinct seasons here in the U.K. 🙌🏻

Not only does it give us something to look forward to weather wise, it also force us to rethink our wardrobe several times a year.

This is a very good thing as it prevents boredom with the clothes we already own. We also have to be more creative and use more items than if the weather was fairly similar year around. 👏🏻
