GRWM - Neutral winter layering 🤍 The biggest positive with cold weather is that we can practice our layering. And even though it can be tricky to get right at times, it gives our looks extra depth and interest. I like to take every opportunity to have fun with my wardrobe, even if it’s just for a winter walk. Even though my boots are for riding originally, I use them for so much more! It’s easy to put clothes into categories and only use them for what they are for. But if we choose to think outside the box, we might be surprised at the versatility. And all in all, we ended up needing less! In my family we always dress up for Christmas. As a Swede, we would celebrate on Christmas Eve and I have fond childhood memories of the clicking of heels I wooden floors and sounds of laughter mixed with Frank Sinatra .

Me and my sisters would be wearing our prettiest dresses with bows in our hairs. It was magical/

I still love to dress up for Christmas and usually celebrate both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, to honour the traditions of both my native Sweden and my new home in the UK.

I feel that special moments should be honoured and traditions to be kept alive. 🤍

From a shopaholic to a dream capsule wardrobe 🤍

This is a journey that has taken years, 7 to be more exact. But let’s start from the beginning…

I used to be obsessed with fast fashion, I was fully addicted to shopping and always looking for my next fix. 💉

I loved a trend and would hit the shops on a daily basis, coming home with bags full of “finds”.
Some that never would have the tag removed and many that would break after a few wears or washes.

I spent crazy amounts of money and time on all these items that was “in” for maybe a month, to then to do it all over again..

…and yet I never had anyhting to wear. So I had to do more shopping!
And round and round it went. 🎠

With all of these clothes you would imagined my style to have been incredible right? Not so much… 🤦🏼‍♀️

As all my input was external and I looked to trends, magazines and celebrity for direction, I never learnt to listen inwards and find my own personal style.

It was after my pregnancy with my son, when I excitedly opened up my wardrobes ready to wear my normal clothes again that I’d realised there was nothing in there that I actually liked.

It was all old trends, crap quality and things I didn’t even like. 😭

So I knew I had to make a change.

That week I did a massive clear out and set off on my journey to stop emotional spending, make better decisions, stop collecting and start curating, make my budget stretch further and to find my personal style. 💪🏻

During these years I have come up with a whole bunch of tools and concepts that has been super helpful to me. And that’s exactly what the purpose of this account is - to share these and my journey with you.

If you are where I were, I see you. I have been there and I know how much you want to change, but don’t know how.

This is where I can help you. Follow me and 2025 will be the year you start your journey towards your dream wardrobe. 💪🏻

How to be a clever shopper this Christmas 🎁

There is no time when we tend to buy as much stuff that we don’t even know will be used as during Christmas.

If we are not mindful it’s easy to overspend, panic buy, and get stuck with things we don’t want, because we are too polite to move them on.

Giving gifts is wonderful. And even though we will all be happy for the thought and effort, it’s extra nice if the gift we give and receive actually gets used.

So this year, let’s do things a little differently.

Let’s be more mindful of both our wallets and Mother Nature and focus on items we already know the receiver will love and use, experiences, items that we will use up or why not pre-loved or sustainably made gifts?

@warrenmeliax and I are doing our very own gift challenge. We each have £150 to buy something amazing pre-loved for the other from @vinted or @ebay_uk ✨

…and in the name of sustainability I’m telling you to put that jumper you got from your auntie that doesn’t go with the rest of your wardrobe on a resell site. I’m sure someone will love it and can give it a long life 💪🏻

✨The Christmas party of Christmas parties is always thrown by @_.malinski._ for @pomello ✨

It’s the one event every year I won’t miss. Not just because Malin is a good friend and a fellow Swede and Pomello is the aperitif of choice in our house, but because the venues and choice of guests never disappoint.

This year we spend the afternoon at the winter garden @theroofgardens enjoying live Christmas music and Italian food. (The Tiramisu is the best I have had in London!)

…as usual we left about 2 hours later than the official end time (we got kicked out).

The dress code was sparkles, so I opted for a black tweed set of shorts and a jacket with sequins, sparkly shoes, headband and black tights. Very festive but still day appropriate.

Let’s go horse riding in the cold 🥶

One of my best decisions I have ever made was to take up horse riding again.

I grew up with our own horses and showjumping was a big passion of mine back in Sweden.

But as life does, it gets in the way and we at times have to give up certain things for others. And I missed it terribly!

So when I moved out to Surrey from London, I decided this was the time to get back in the saddle again.

I’m taking private lessons once a week, come rain or shine. And at the moment it’s pretty chilly out there.

So I have gone all in with thermal breeches, merino wool socks, I have a lined jumper, padded gloves and my gorgeous insulated riding boots to keep me warm.

I really love how this look keeps me toasty and looks smart at the same time!

Today I jumped Jingles, I have only ridden her a couple of times before and it was our first ever jumping session. She is an ex-eventer, perfect for me who loves cross country!

I’m slowly building my skills back up again with the goal of getting a sharer and maybe even eventually competing for fun again. We will see where it goes!

5 items I’m wearing a lot in December ✨

This is the fun cold time here in the U.K. December is super festive and we are still quite excited about getting to wear our winter clothes again.

These are 5 items I’m finding myself wearing over and over again at the moment.

1. My beige @loversfriendsla leggings. They work with all my shoes and as I’m definitely a knitted jumper kind of girl in the winter, these are the perfect bottoms for my colour palette.

2. This super soft low back cashmere jumper by @sineadkearythelabel has the cutest little bow at the back. It makes it perfect as a slightly more elevated festive basic.

3. I have been wearing these @reiss boots for years and they still look almost like new. They do get dirty if course, but I just wipe them off and they are ready to go again.

4. This is the cosiest jacket I own. A faux fur fluffball by @guess . The cuddles I get wearing this jacket makes it worth it alone!

5. This cashmere turtleneck dress by @everlane has been with me for many winters and it never disappoints. The quality is perfection and I keep finding new ways to style it for more casual Christmas drinks and events.

None of these items are new by any means, but they still look almost like they are! That’s a great sign of quality and timelessness. Especially when items get as much wear as these do.

ad| Demystifying shape wear - 5 reasons why every wardrobe needs a shapewear body.

(But before I dive into the benefits - yes, you can go to the bathroom, the body unclips fully in the crotch 👌🏻)

Shape wear is in general mostly enjoyed for the smoothing and slimming attributes, however I have found a whole bunch of other benefits too.

5 occasions and reasons why I use this body (apart from the obvious) are;

1. To layer under blazers for that barely there look.

A body leaves no bulk or creases, and it’s low cut enough to cover if needed, but barely noticeable in the finished look.

2. For modesty when I’m wearing low cut tops or dresses.

If I match the colours, no one will know where the dress stops and the body starts. It’s also an extra little safety if the dress would slide or move.

3. Under knitted jumpers to prevent itchiness.

I absolutely refuse to wear anything itchy. This is when a shape wear body can really save the day. It’s like a second skin, but without being visible at all.

4. Under cardigans for comfort and style.

I love a big bulky cardigan look. But I do also want to wear something under that won’t look strange or take away from the outfit. This is where a low cut body like this really shines.

5. Under shirts for warmth.

I adore wearing shirts and I tend to want to use them year around. I just layer them with a body in the colder months. It might not seem like much, but it actually makes a noticeable difference.

Both my bodies are from @honeylove . They are made in great quality and have been fit tested for at least 2 years on regular women to make sure they are perfect.

Is outfit 1, 2 or 3 more your style? 🤔

It’s getting quite chilly here in the U.K. and to still be able to wear our dresses and skirts, we most likely will have to start incorporating tights into our looks.

I’m personally not a fan of nude tights and the black version is a bit more of a statement so they can be a little bit tricky to style. But when it works, it looks great!

I never want the tights to take away from a look, so it’s all about getting the right balance.

As black is a dominant colour, I prefer to match them with black shoes to not cut the leg off unnecessarily.
And if want to add another colour to the outfit, I try to sandwich that shade between two black pieces to keep the look together.

I don’t believe you can ever really be over dressed.
You can be wrongly dressed for the activity, or under dressed.

But who is really going to complain if you put more effort in than someone else?

As a host, I find it really flattering when my guests take my event seriously enough to want to look nice.

And if we have beautiful clothes in our wardrobes, why not wear them! Life is too short to play small.

Instead I try to take every opportunity to have fun with my wardrobe and personal style.

How to do party dressing on a budget 🥂

Here comes the party season! And with that potentially some outfit anxiety…

I’m here to tell you - No, you don’t need loads of new looks for all these different events. ☝🏻

It’s easy to go all in on the glitz to then have half a wardrobe full of cocktail dresses you won’t wear again until next December.

If you use my little trick, you can actually get away with only 3 looks;

1. LBD - the little black dress. Every girl needs one that fits us perfectly and we always feel amazing wearing.

Just mix and match accessories and jewellery and you can keep wearing it without getting bored for ever. (This can be interchanged with a LWD if that suits you better)

2. A personal style piece. Maybe a dress that’s just very you. Something that stands out and will get those compliments for the occasions when we want to really shine.

3. The alternative. Maybe a suit, some silk trousers or a skirt? For those times we don’t want to wear a dress.

… and then share these looks in a WhatsApp group with a few friends, have them share their own and start sharing. 👏🏻

It will seem like you have an endless wardrobe!

And if you don’t want to do the sharing thing. Just re-wear. No one is going to think anything about it if they happen to see the same look on you twice.

…and most likely the guest list won’t be the same for all of these parties anyways! 🤷🏼‍♀️

I love December, we have so many excellent reasons to be dressing up. 👏🏻

Christmas parties allow us to bring out our best occasion wear and let our hair down for an evening.

…albeit one type can be a little trickier than the rest - the office party.

It can be a bit of a balancing act to look festive and appropriate at the same time.
It’s not usually the place to go all in, so the sequin mini might be better to save for the girl group’s secret santa cocktail evening. Instead I tend to reach for my silks, tweeds and suedes.

Naturally, all workplaces have different dress-codes.

5 items we will not be buying in the sales ☝🏻

The sales are amazing, if they are done right.
We want to use them to get those items that normally would be slightly out of reach budget wise.

Things that suits our personal style and wardrobe, in great quality, so they last and that we truly love.

What we won’t buy are these;

1. The items we haven’t seen before.

If we don’t already know that we love and need it, it’s most likely an impulse purchase.

It’s much better to decide what to get, before the sale starts!

2. The item we already have.

If it’s something that is similar to something else we already own and we still would love the first item more, the second will be left unused.

This does not apply to items we “go through” like t-shirts and underwear, when it can makes sense to buy multiples.

3. The item we can’t afford.

No matter how tempting, no price of clothing is ever worth getting in debt for. Instead put it on your wish list for the future.

4. The item we wouldn’t be interested in at full price.
Not because we can’t afford it, but because we don’t actually like it enough.

5. last but not least. We won’t be seduced by a big reduction. It might still not be worth it if the item isn’t useful to you.

Remember your price per wear and shop accordingly!
