I want to be a mom “for my kids”
not just a mom “to my kids”

I’ve been reflecting on this a lot lately. Being a mom to your kids often looks like managing the day-to-day—meal prep, bath time, carpools, wiping spills, passing out snacks and making sure shoes are actually on the right feet before heading out the door. It’s the constant hustle of doing.

But being a mom for your kids? That’s something deeper.

It’s showing up in ways that matter to them. It’s being present in their joy, their messes, and their little worries. It’s cheering them on from the sidelines, sitting on the floor for their made-up games, and being their safe place when they need a hug more than words.

One isn’t better than the other—we have to do for them to thrive. But I’ve realized the “for” moments are where the joy lives. Those moments? That’s where I see their little hearts grow—and mine too.

What if I told you that there’s a way to enjoy more of life when you embrace what annoys you? 🤪

1. Deepen your family bond - Engaging in activities they love creates shared experiences and memories and the best part is, you’ll walk away with memories you’re craving to create more of.

3. Create a positive, supportive home - peace and harmony in your home is important to you, right? That’s so possible to find and maybe even found in embracing what your people love to do.

4. Grow through new experiences - when was the last time you tried something new and loved it?

5. Better communication and understanding - I cannot tell you how many arguments have been diffused with aviation analogies 🙃 when I’m able to explain how I feel in the terms of airplanes, everyone wins and understands. Being involved in what my husband loves has given me that shared language.

Ultimately, leaning into what you low key loathe stregnthens relationships, happiness, and personal growth within the family unit, enhancing everyone’s quality of life - yours, too. 🤍🫶🏼
