117. The Devil Wears Scrubs by Frieda McFadden :: 2.75/5⭐️. Jane is a medical intern just starting her residency at Community Hospital and it is hell! From drug addicted patients, to mean preceptors, to working for 30 hours at a time, Jane just can’t seem to catch a break. Every chapter she wonders if she’s cut out for this. This book did NOT start out strong at all. I actually didn’t like the first 1/3 of the book. It wasn’t funny, and I just did not like the writing. The last half picked up more, but I kind of feel like I just ended. Wouldn’t really recommend unless you’re a med student.

116. The Silent Woman by Minka Kent :: 3.25/5⭐️. Jade and Wells are newly married living in the Wells Estate. The only thing is that Wells’ first wife, Sylvie, had an accident 3 years earlier and is living in their guest house. Sylvie can not speak or communicate, until one day, Jade discovers that she can. Her message to Jade… R U N. I kept expecting this whirlwind ending, but it never came. It was predictable and a little boring. I actually said out loud “that’s it!?” When it ended. If you need a short filler book, this one could be good.

115. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins :: 3.5/5⭐️ the first of the Hunger Games series goes back to a previous Hunger Games. Coriolanus Snow (we know him as President Snow in the current Hunger Games) and his family have fallen on hard times, and he is mentoring a tribute in the Games. If his tribute wins he gets all the glory back for his family. I fully thought this book was going to end at the end of the Hunger Games, but it just keeps going. Going to be honest, I kind of tuned it out after we found out who won. I didn’t like this book as much as the previous 3 books, but I also read them over a decade ago and it was just a different time. I did think it was cool seeing some of President Snows back story. But I read the books so long ago, I don’t really remember much of the characters!

114. She’s Not Sorry by Mary Kubica :: 4.75/5⭐️ Meghan Michaels is an ICU nurse and a single mom just trying to find a balance between the two. One night a young girl comes into the ICU following an apparent suicide attempt- or was it.. As a nurse, you always try to keep a line between your patients and yourself, but Meghan gets a little too close with her family, and uncovers a little too much. She realizes this too late. OMG the twists in this book were SO good! I haven’t read a good thriller in a while and this one broke the mold! HIGHLY recommend!!

113. Butcher & Blackbird by Brynn Weaver :: 3.75/5⭐️ Sloan and Rowan are rival murderers who play a game to see who can find and kill serial killers. Once they finally get their hands on them, they do so in the most gorey way. Beyond the gore though, I actually liked the storyline. It kept me coming back for more. But holy Moses this book was disgusting in some parts. I didn’t realize it was that kind of book. Like I had to skip ahead in some parts and I don’t appreciate the food references. There were really about 3 parts that had me second guessing my choice to read this book. Wouldn’t recommend if you have a squeamish stomach.

112. Just Another Missing Person by Gillian McAllister :: 3.25/5⭐️ 22 year old Olivia is missing and Julia, the detective investigating the case, is faced with a very difficult decision: corrupt evidence in Julia’s case to save her daughter, or risk her secret coming out. While there were many twists, especially in the last half, I found it a bit confusing and hard to keep track of. I actually got 75% of the way thru and stopped reading because I was confused. Then restarted it from the beginning and finished it, and was still confused.
