For her entire life, my grandmother cut her own hair and set it in foam curlers ever. Single. Night. She taught me how to do it and some night would even let me do most of the curls. In the morning she’d brush through the tight curls and spray on so much Aussie mega hold hair spray that it’s a wonder she got it out each night. This peculiar memory came about today while I was sitting in my stylist’s chair chatting with her about cosmetology school. She mentioned that the school she went to was old school and mostly taught roller sets. Out of this, we started talking over the concept of not despising small beginnings. While she didn’t go to one of the top schools, I’ve watched her chase after continuing education to better herself and the experience for her clients. It got me thinking about how and where I can continue to grow. Which leaves me curious- what is a skill you’d like to improve in yourself? I suppose the new year offers an opportunity or “reason” to attack it, but what if instead we start now? LTKHoliday LTKGiftGuide LTKSeasonal
