This is one of my absolute favorite loungewear dresses for summer 😍

I don’t know about you, but I grew up during a time when people showed up at your house unannounced. There were no cell phones, and calling a landline often led to a busy signal. My family was poor so sometimes our landline wasn’t even on. So, if people needed something, wanted to tell you something or just wanted to check in and say hello, they just came over. Because of that, when we were home, we usually dressed as if we were having company.

This is something I still do to this day. That’s why I love cool lounging dresses like the one I’m wearing here. It’s a simple throw-on dress that’s inexpensive, cozy and comfortable. It’s also pretty lightweight and very breathable, which is especially great for our hot and humid summer weather here in the Peach State. As a hardworking (and unapologetic) introvert, I take quarterly solo getaways at #GetawayHouse to rest, recharge and reset. It’s all about #selfcare! In case you aren’t familiar with #Getaway, it’s basically an escape to a tiny cabin nestled in nature. Since the cabins are just a mere 100-square-feet, you have to take a minimalist approach to packing.

That’s where the outfit I’m sporting here comes in.

Every salad lover needs a good #triflebowl – and I absolutely love this one right here! I actually bought it as a little birthday gift for myself.

For quite some time, I had been looking for the perfect trifle bowl. I wanted one that was sturdy, but not too fancy. One that I could regularly build #layeredsalads with, but also one that could be repurposed for seasonal centerpieces and other decor.

You haven’t had good #guacamole until it’s made in a #molcajete. Using this one, my guacamole now tastes just as good as the guac served at Mexican restaurants.

Never again will I make it in a bowl.

Pressing and grinding the more aromatic layers together releases all their essential oils and completely extracts their juices and rich flavors, which ultimately adds more depth of flavor to the finished guac.

You can literally smell the difference.

If you love guacamole as much as I do, I highly recommend getting yourself a molcajete. You’re not limited to making guac either! You can use it to grind and mix ingredients for your favorite salsas, sauces and other dishes 🥑
