What are your favorite boat shoes? What are your favorite shoes from Miu Miu? No one ever accused me of shying away from luxury goods. I have a long, happy history with Miu Miu in particular and a weakness for their shoes. I became aware of these boat shoes via a text notification making fun of them. In my heart, I believed I would come to their defense. That did not happen. These shoes are bulbous. The painted patina looks awkward; it’s not the high quality Berluti treatment, and it’s not the subtle G.H. Bass approach. I get that a bunch of work and fine materials went into these shoes, and I applaud the absence of flashy branding. A part of me thinks they’ll offer arch support and feel great on the foot. But hard pass, especially since our affordable options are actually the authentic inspirations for this shoe, and they look relevant today.
