Foundation Matching ✨
This is how a makeup artists gets your PERFECT shade. We look at the bigger picture and take more into consideration than just your actual face. We need your foundation to flow with the rest of your body’s colour so you don’t look like your head is darker or indeed lighter than the rest of your body. It’s all about flow ✨
So why match to your décolletage or chest area? Normally your chest area is the same colour as the rest of your body, so when I’m trying to match someone to their natural overall body colour, or even if you’ve tan on, this trick ensures your entire colour will flow and you’ll have a flawless look head, to toe. No disconnect 🤪.
Note: let your foundation dry for 10-15 mins. If you’re in a store, simply shop for a while then revert back once you’ve had time to look at your swatches in natural or day light. The reason is, sometimes foundations can alter shade (oxidise) when on the skin for a while. It may look right to begin but turn darker when settled. Various reasons such as your skins PH or even the ingredients in the product cause this. It doesn’t always happen but leaving it a few mins ensures you cancel this instance from happening and buying the wrong shade 😣 Handy to have a mirror to check when near natural light also, as store lights are often very warm and misleading x
