Make sure your emergency savings accounts for garage maintenance. So far as homeowners we have had to replace the springs (at our previous home) and most recently our garage lift. It’s important to know the lifespan of different parts so you can save accordingly and not be caught in a bind when repairs are needed. We also learned that we can do preventative maintenance on many of the components by properly lubricating them every 6 months.
