Savory Meatball Recipe
* 1 lb. ground beef
* 1 lb. ground pork sausage
* 2 eggs, beaten
* 1 cup plain dry breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
* 3 tablespoons milk
* 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
* 1 teaspoon onion powder
* 1 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1 teaspoon chili powder
* 1 teaspoon seasoned salt, such as Lawry’s brand
* ½ teaspoon kosher salt
* 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
* 18 ounce bottle barbecue sauce
In the bowl of your electric mixer or in a large glass bowl, add all of your meatball ingredients except for the barbecue sauce.
Mix your meat mixture on low until it is all combined.
Form your meatball mixture into 1 inch balls.
Chill your meatballs for 30 minutes before cooking. This helps them to hold together while being cooked.
In a heavy bottomed Dutch oven or cast-iron pan, add 2 teaspoons of avocado oil on medium high heat.
Add 1 inch balls of your meat mixture to the preheated pan and sear the meatballs on all sides.
Transfer your meatballs to a lightly greased 9 Ă— 13 casserole dish.
Drizzle the barbecue sauce over the meatballs until they are covered and cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil.
Preheat your oven to 400°F and bake your meatballs for 15 minutes.
Remove the aluminum foil and bake another 10 minutes, making sure that the barbecue sauce doesn’t burn. Enjoy!
