ad| Demystifying shape wear - 5 reasons why every wardrobe needs a shapewear body.

(But before I dive into the benefits - yes, you can go to the bathroom, the body unclips fully in the crotch 👌🏻)

Shape wear is in general mostly enjoyed for the smoothing and slimming attributes, however I have found a whole bunch of other benefits too.

5 occasions and reasons why I use this body (apart from the obvious) are;

1. To layer under blazers for that barely there look.

A body leaves no bulk or creases, and it’s low cut enough to cover if needed, but barely noticeable in the finished look.

2. For modesty when I’m wearing low cut tops or dresses.

If I match the colours, no one will know where the dress stops and the body starts. It’s also an extra little safety if the dress would slide or move.

3. Under knitted jumpers to prevent itchiness.

I absolutely refuse to wear anything itchy. This is when a shape wear body can really save the day. It’s like a second skin, but without being visible at all.

4. Under cardigans for comfort and style.

I love a big bulky cardigan look. But I do also want to wear something under that won’t look strange or take away from the outfit. This is where a low cut body like this really shines.

5. Under shirts for warmth.

I adore wearing shirts and I tend to want to use them year around. I just layer them with a body in the colder months. It might not seem like much, but it actually makes a noticeable difference.

How I pick the right jewellery for my capsule wardrobe 💍

… most of the time, I don’t.

Almost every piece of jewellery I own I have either been given to me as a gift or inherited.

And the very few pieces I have bought myself are usually for a celebrations of special events.

To me, jewellery is so much more than items to wear. They are symbols to remind me that I’m loved, of special occasions, or relatives that are not with me anymore. 🤍

As you might have noticed when you see my videos, I barely ever buy new jewellery and I don’t own a lot of different pieces. Instead I wear my signature items over and over again.

My family ring and my @cartier watch are both inherited from my mom. I also have a very special pearl necklace from my grandmother.

The @dior necklace I get so many questions about was a gift from one of my very first boyfriends over 20 years ago. And I was given my @vancleefarpels necklace by my ex husband when our son was born.

I want my jewellery to tell stories, so the idea of buying lots of different pieces doesn’t appeal to me.

My advice is, if there is one time you really should choose less but better, it’s definitely when it comes to jewellery. Make sure you buy them rarely, but when you do, make them truly special. 🤍

Why fashion is neither shallow nor unimportant. ☝🏻

An interest in fashion and clothes is often wrongly dismissed as vain and trivial.

One of the main points that these people are missing is non-verbal communication and the importance of matching our outside to our inside.

We shouldn’t care too much about what other people think about what we wear, but it’s worth considering if the story we tell with our clothes matches the one we feel on the inside.

This is easiest done with personal style. Putting some effort into figuring out what we truly love to wear, is never going to be a waste of time or energy.

If we feel confident and comfortable in what we wear, then we are more likely to relax and feel free to be ourselves.

And this does not mean that you have to be all dressy or fancy. It’s about being you.

Some people say they don’t care, and dress like they don’t care. So their look communicates exactly that.

Fashion is another type of expression, no matter how you choose to use it.
