DIY nails! No professional here, but these are the steps that work for me😆
1. Put fake nails on with strong nail glue
2. Use nail clippers to trim nails down
3. File to desired shape
4. I use a light colored dip (linked) because then I only have to buy one jar and can put the various gel colors on top depending on what I want. This just acts as a strong base for the gel on top. * For first coat of dip, only paint 2/3 of the nail (leaving space unpainted towards the cuticle), lightly wipe powder off and then for the second coat of dip, paint the whole nail - this helps keep it less thick towards the cuticle because you only put one coat near that part during second round. Hopefully that makes sense haha.
5. Wipe powder off and add activator on top - this helps harden the powder
6. Nail buff and File to smooth edges especially near cuticle and to keep desired shape. I use an electric file from Amazon but it’s not really necessary
7. Paint with desired gel color - two thin coats running under UV light after each coat
8. Finish with thin gel top coat and under light to dry completely!
I like the gel polishes because they come with regular polish which I can use to match on my toes! I add a clear gel top coat on toes to last a longer time!! 💖 feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
I love looking up different dnd gel nail color numbers/names on Pinterest to see what they look like on peoples nails!
