We’ve been keeping some secrets… We are certified for foster care + adoption! We started this journey in August of 2023 and it’s been a whirlwind of a ride since then. We’ve experienced so much hope and heartbreak already, but we feel an overwhelming sense of certainty amidst it all. This is exactly what we were called to do and we know everything is happening exactly how it is meant to 🫶🏻 I’ve hesitated sharing this publicly, because it’s not just our journey. Our first concern is for the safety of the children that we care for, so we only plan on sharing certain experiences for the time being. I felt ready to share this part of the journey because we have reached two years of trying to start our family on our own and have had four occasions of children *almost* coming home to us. But also because God has made it abundantly clear that my calling is to be a mother 🥹 We hope that opening up about this part of our life invites prayer (selfishly) for us. But mostly we hope to invite prayer for the foster/adoption system, the workers, families, and grander community involved in keeping kids safe! And thank you to our village for holding us closely while we wait.
