Last summer I shared about how I swapped this faux stoneware Target sugar bowl, which went with my 2019 semi earthy/industrial contemporary kitchen remodel, for something more classic like I’m leaning now. Instagram and facebook showed it to 1 million+ people who did not understand why I would care so much to post about a sugar bowl. The comments ranged from, “But the first one goes better” to assuming I put the first one in the literal trash to “I hope you never have children” (that’s the only one I deleted) to “Xylitol is deadly to dogs.” It was the first time I had had so many comments from people who were so angry at me, and I started by providing thoughtful debate type responses to them, but soon learned that that was not how you deal with Internet haters. 🫠 There is a very important conversation to have about style/home feeling, waste, aesthetics, and how we weigh those values, but I don’t think the comments of an Instagram post that they spent a few seconds absorbing is where to have it. Neither is this post, I can’t do it justice here. But those of you who are interested in adding some classic blue and white instead of the big box stuff of the past few years, I’ve been enjoying this one! I’ve been looking for them at antique stores for a long time and just haven’t found anything that works quite as well. LTKHome LTKFindsUnder50
