I put up Christmas really early this year, which felt so good at the time and I’ve been really enjoying it but… I think I’m about ready to take it down. 😱 Feeling like a bad Christmas mom 😬 December 26, I am getting back on Hinge and taking down my Christmas decor. Some stills because I am so excited about the pretty colors and warmth in this baseline preppy guestroom. I’m still figuring out how much I want to go Nancy Meyers neutral in my home versus bring that romantic English inspired vintage charm. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I like this! I’ve honestly never decorated my bedroom until this year, but I am all about it now! It’s so fun to have something a little different for a month or two, plus I love the red and green with my peachy walls and preppy bed and bedding. Do you do this??

Is it me or is it weird that there are trendy new stockings to buy every year? There are some very cute ones. But I thought having the same stocking every year was special to kids? Maybe the cute ones are just decorative. Maybe you just get new ones every few years, so only a couple times in their childhood. Maybe other people don’t care about this? What are stocking traditions like in your house?

Been slowly swapping out the very mass produced, appealing-to-the-masses stuff, but it takes time! I’ve looked for an antique to replace this little table/stool but haven’t been able to find one. This one is from @mcgeeandco and it’s so sweet. I like the darker color in here (also comes in a lighter shade) I love the fun shape on the legs!

I don’t have “the perfect” garland link for you or any special tips. My fireplace mantel garland usually intimidates me so I procrastinate. I also usually have it lit with a string of standard Christmas lights, but they just look so plasticy now. Maybe I should do fairy lights? Or maybe just let it be woodsy. Do you do the same garland every year or different?

Christmas is still a month away and already I have felt more joy this holiday season that I remember in a long time. I found this vintage crystal-ey semi flush mount light scrunched up in a printer paper box at my favorite antique store and I carefully hung the strings back on, but I finally rounded up some similar ones available new, at different price points.

Still not quite done decorating this tree, but I think I should get extra credit for using the clip on candles this year! I love the extra emphasis they add. Plus, this tree is pre-lit so with just the existing lights and the candles I didn’t need all my spools of old school string lights year! It was so much faster and easier to decorate!
