This TV is about 43”. Think the same size would be good? They just feel so big! Honestly, it might take me until next Cyber Monday to decide. I resent how expensive they are. But would love to hear your thoughts!

Last summer I shared about how I swapped this faux stoneware Target sugar bowl, which went with my 2019 semi earthy/industrial contemporary kitchen remodel, for something more classic like I’m leaning now. Instagram and facebook showed it to 1 million+ people who did not understand why I would care so much to post about a sugar bowl. The comments ranged from, “But the first one goes better” to assuming I put the first one in the literal trash to “I hope you never have children” (that’s the only one I deleted) to “Xylitol is deadly to dogs.” It was the first time I had had so many comments from people who were so angry at me, and I started by providing thoughtful debate type responses to them, but soon learned that that was not how you deal with Internet haters. 🫠 There is a very important conversation to have about style/home feeling, waste, aesthetics, and how we weigh those values, but I don’t think the comments of an Instagram post that they spent a few seconds absorbing is where to have it. Neither is this post, I can’t do it justice here.

But those of you who are interested in adding some classic blue and white instead of the big box stuff of the past few years, I’ve been enjoying this one! I’ve been looking for them at antique stores for a long time and just haven’t found anything that works quite as well.

The one time of year we put our children’s toys out on display. It’s just ironic that this wrapping paper is so nice and the things inside it are so hot pink plastic! I appreciate the lovely disguising wrapping paper and yet this is also the most special holiday I have had with my kids and I’m so grateful to have these special people to give these obnoxious gifts to.❤️

Been slowly swapping out the very mass produced, appealing-to-the-masses stuff, but it takes time! I’ve looked for an antique to replace this little table/stool but haven’t been able to find one. This one is from @mcgeeandco and it’s so sweet. I like the darker color in here (also comes in a lighter shade) I love the fun shape on the legs!

I don’t have “the perfect” garland link for you or any special tips. My fireplace mantel garland usually intimidates me so I procrastinate. I also usually have it lit with a string of standard Christmas lights, but they just look so plasticy now. Maybe I should do fairy lights? Or maybe just let it be woodsy. Do you do the same garland every year or different?

Christmas is still a month away and already I have felt more joy this holiday season that I remember in a long time. I found this vintage crystal-ey semi flush mount light scrunched up in a printer paper box at my favorite antique store and I carefully hung the strings back on, but I finally rounded up some similar ones available new, at different price points.

Still not quite done decorating this tree, but I think I should get extra credit for using the clip on candles this year! I love the extra emphasis they add. Plus, this tree is pre-lit so with just the existing lights and the candles I didn’t need all my spools of old school string lights year! It was so much faster and easier to decorate!
