Trying CakeBeauty curlyhairproducts for the first time & I am SHOOK! During AmazonPrimeDay I purchased a couple different product bundles from various brands & Cake was first on my list to try as I’ve heard nothing but great things about both the brand + products!
🔖 Note: I am a 3B curl type! It's SUPER important to know your curl type (yes, you have one!) so that you are ONLY using products that cater to your specific hair type! Trust me - it makes all the difference (especially in your pockets!) knowing what products will have your curls out here living their best and most HEALTHY life!
The bundle I purchased included 'The Curl-Friend' Shampoo, 'The Curl Next Door' Conditioner, & ‘The Curl-Friend' Defining Curl Cream. Being as though I live in Nashville & the heat+humidity gives zero f's about my curl type or pattern, I was not super excited to try the curl cream bc creams usually leave my hair feeling wet, sticky, & with not a near single ounce of hold. While I'm also not a fan of gel products that leave your hair stiff & crunchy, it's almost like I have to make it crunchy just for it to hold once I step outside 😑. Prior to my order arriving, i happened to take my talents to Walgreens where I stumbled across the 'The Curl Crush' Curl Jelly. Up until that point I had never tried a jelly product before so I decided to grab it to try with the shampoo & conditioner!
Overall I give the bundle (the shampoo, conditioner, and jelly (maybe I’ll try the cream when the weather breaks.. in November 🙄) a 9/10. It could have been a user error but the shampoo didn't lather as much as I would have liked. None of the products have an overwhelming scent & the VERY best part - my curls were still going strong the next day with NO refresher!
& that my friend is what we call a WIN 🥇🏆♥️
