This adorable heart garland for Valentines Day is so easy and fun to make at home with toddlers. I found this great idea on YouTube by Coley Kuyer Art and decided to recreate it with my children. All you need to get started is are a disposable table cloth (if you want to make clean up super easy), washable paint (the only paint allowed in my house), some paint brushes and/or sponges, a hole puncher, and some string or yarn. I love her idea of only putting the paint colors that mix well together onto a paper plate. This gives you some control and ensures the colors all turn out pretty. Im a little type A so this took some of the anxiety away of how it all would turn out. Simply use the empty toilet paper or paper towel rolls and let your kids paint them. After drying for about 10-15 minutes, cut them into 1 inch strips. Fold the 1 inch strips and then take the top part and fold into a heart shape while pinching the bottom. Finally use the hole puncher to put four holes on the top of the heart and string through each hole to make a finished valentines heart garland. Stringing together the hearts was probably the most time consuming part for me. But it all came together so nicely. The kids loved being a part of making it. We created two, one for our house and one for Nama & Papa as a gift to show our love and appreciation for all that they do this Valentines Day. LTKKids LTKGiftGuide LTKFamily
