1st Trip Around the Sun Birthday Party 🚀🎂💫 I started the day before with these arch backdrop stands from Amazon. They come in a set of three and are super versatile with interchangeable spandex covers. I went with white for a clean, elegant look and assembled the 8-foot and 7-foot arches to frame the space perfectly.
Next was the balloon garland. I got this double-stuffed balloon kit from Etsy in rustic blues, and I love the custom matte finish. If you’ve never made a balloon garland before, it’s easier than it looks! I used a balloon pump to inflate all the medium balloons, tied the inner balloons together in pairs, and clustered them into sets of four.
Once the clusters were ready, I planned the layout and tied them together with ribbon to create the garland. I attached it to the backdrop using safety pins and long 260 balloons, wrapping the skinny balloons around the garland string for a secure hold.
After securing the garland, I used the clusters of small balloons to fill in any gaps and added pops of silver for dimension. To tie in with the space theme, I added these silver moon and star balloons from a different kit, which gave the setup such a magical touch.
I also got these huge silver letter balloons that spelled out his name, Atlas. I went with the 40-inch size, but honestly, I wish I had gone with the 30-inch—they would have fit the space better.
For the cake station, I used a cute photo banner I found for under $10 to personalize it. I worked with local bakers to create custom cakes and cookies, and they turned out absolutely adorable.
The ball pit was a huge hit with the kids, and the 3-foot light-up marquee number worked perfectly for photos, even though it wasn’t the best quality.
The whole setup came together beautifully, and everyone had a blast—pun intended! I did it all for under $200, and while Atlas may not remember it now, it’s something he will cherish in the future.
