Postpartum Perineal Recovery Must-Haves:
1. Peri Bottle - it has perfectly angled spout to gently clean hard-to-reach areas. I used it every time I go to the bathroom.
2. Reusable Hot & Cold Packs - These ice packs work double as a heating pad or an ice pack. They are slim and comfy. I used them for postpartum swelling, usually applied it under my pad and it totally relieved the soreness! Works wonders.
3. 2-in-1 Ice Maxi Pads - I used these at night when I don’t have access to the therapy packs. They can sit in your bathroom, just pop, shake, and stick in your adult diaper. They are absorbent too which is nice!
4. Tucks - a must!! They are immediately cooling and help keep things extra clean. It’s a pad soaked in magical witch hazel. I layer them on my pads when I’m not using ice packs. Already on my second bottle!
5. Frida Mom Foam: witch hazel foam - spread it over the cooling pads and your pad liners
6. Oxy-Powder - ditch the stool softeners. Get this instead! It’s a form of magnesium that uses the power of oxygen to gently cleanse! This is a staple in my medicine cabinet.
7. Always Discreet - These are great for postpartum! So much better than the hospital disposable undies and the Frida kit ones. They are not too thick or lumpy, and so comfy after giving birth.
8. Ultra-Thin Pads - I personally like to layer these on top of the discreet so I don’t have to change those as often!
9. Prenatal + Omega 3 - Taking prenatal vitamins and Omega-3s after your baby is is essential! Prenatals refill your body’s nutrients, and Omega-3s are great for your baby’s brain and your mood. It’s like giving you and your baby an extra health boost. *Always good to check with your doctor about which supplements are best for you.
10. Sitz Bath To soothe any painful areas in your perineum, use a sitz bath daily. You get relief after soaking in a sitz bath for 15 to 20 minutes.
