This weekend had me feeling all the 40-something vibes. Kicked it off with a 3-mile run on Friday (my knees only slightly objected – thanks, 40s). Saturday was a blur of family and fun: I played mom-taxi to pick up my daughter from college for spring break (the joy + the car full of dorm laundry, oh my!). To celebrate surviving the dorm pickup, I detoured to West Elm and hit peak adulting: analyzing sectional sofas like life decisions and sniffing every candle 🕯 in the store until I found the one. Then swung by Anthropologie “just to browse” and ended up trying on a skirt… which somehow came home with me 🛍. (Treat yourself is alive and well at this age, okay?) Sunday reality check: laundry day. I tackled the mountain of clothes while jamming out to Luther Vandross’s “Promise Me” on repeat – folding towels and singing my heart out counts as multitasking, right? 😅 To make chores more fun, I hosted a mini fashion show, trying on my new skirt and other recent finds. Wrapped up the weekend by bookending it with another 3-mile run. Because nothing says “life in your 40s” like voluntarily running twice in one weekend, balancing mom life, and still finding time to groove to 80s jams. Tired, happy, and ready for Monday – maybe. 😉 WeekendRecap blackgenx GenX MidlifeAdventures Over40 MidlifeMom 40s fortysomething nostalgia LTKStyleTip LTKOver40
