Brinker + Eliza is a jewelry brand designed by a mother/daughter team (the mother is a trained metalsmith and the daughter worked in fashion merchandising). They self-describe their jewelry as for “someone who puts jewelry on to run errands ‘“’because why not'”. What I love about their pieces are the various heart elements, the luxe look of the metals and stones, and the fun shapes that are a nice alternative to simple, everyday hoops. If you were to look at my middle school or junior high wardrobe, chances are you’d find a few rosette clothing pieces. The rosette fashion trend was popular in the 2000’s and is making it’s way back around (as all trends seem to), but with a more mature twist.

When I think of rosettes, I think of Carrie Bradshaw and Macy’s homecoming dresses of my youth. The rosette trend of today is sexier and more modern vs. the youthful style of the 2000’s. It’s a way to add a feminine touch to any outfit and you can tone down the girly touch with the shades you choose (whites, blacks, and deep reds vs. bright pinks, for example).

Puff sleeves were one of those trends I was scared to wear at first for fear it would overwhelm my short frame. But the key to nailing this look is to find the right piece and styling it appropriately. For me, I find that I need to wear my hair down and choose a top that’s structured in the waist to pull off the puff sleeve trend. I also opt for thinner, breezier fabrics since any fabric that is too thick just adds volume to my frame that I don’t want there. But that’s just me!
