Robert Trent Jones is well-known as one of the top US golf course architects. If you’ve played the RTJ golf trail in Alabama, you know the types of courses he can deliver. Speaking of Robert Trent Jones’ courses, Santa Maria Golf Courses is one of my favorite munis in the Baton Rouge area.
It’s a nearly 7,000-yard par 72 built in 1987 on 150 acres. The course has bermuda fairways and hosts play year round. Overall, it’s a fun test in terms of a course that won’t overly tax you with its difficulty.
What’s your favorite course in Louisiana? What courses have you played recently that you recommend?
