Sno-ball, not to be confused with snowball or snow cone (admittedly, I didn’t know the difference), is synonymous with the Hansen family in New Orleans. Sno-balls absorb the syrup while syrup sinks to the bottom of a snow cone. 🍧 Ernest Hansen invented the first motor-driven ice-shaving machine in the 1930s. Later that decade, Ernest and his wife Mary launched Hansen’s @snobliz and haven’t looked back since. In fact, their granddaughter Ashley runs the place that won a James Beard award in the American Classics category!🥇 We recently checked out Hansen’s and their sno-balls hit the spot. The blueberry and strawberry with cream were fantastic! If you’re in Nola between March and October, do yourself a favor and snag a sno-ball. 💯 Have you been to Hansen’s? What’s your favorite sno-ball spot in New Orleans? P.S.
