For the first time in a long time (maybe forever) I believe it’s a great time to be a woman ✊🏼 EraOfTheWoman For the last 2 years I’ve been personally struggling with having a “legit seat” at the table. As in, “should I even be here right now, can I handle this, am I even capable” struggling. While sharing a partnership in business with my husband has been challenging and full of growing pains, only recently have I been able to recognize that I am worthy of this. I am a PARTNER and not just because of marital status (please don’t call me “the wife”) No, I don’t “deserve” this. But I sure as hell EARNED it. Meaning my opinions, thoughts, and struggles MATTER. Meaning, I am capable of making decisions. Not only CAN I, but I DO. 👊🏼 I’ve never really had a leader from my past jobs truly invest in me, and sadly to say, certainly not a leader who was a woman. I’m determined to change that. I want to EMPOWER all the women in my life and grow them. 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️ Mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally AND professionally. Not only is it my duty to do so as a business owner, but also as a woman. Does this mean I will fail and fall short. Yes, of course. Does this mean they will fail and fall short? Yes. But if we TRY and fail, I’m going to take that as a win because it means we took a risk. We will learn. We will do and be better. This adversity and these growing pains will strengthen the next generation. It’s not that we are “better than”, but we are “EQUAL TO.” We can only do this in unison. Only if we start and continue the conversation. We need to be kind to each other and, just as important, be kind to ourselves. We cannot pour into each other from an empty cup. So let’s lift each other up in support. Let’s fight this fight together.
