Popping in after a week-ish of much needed time away from social media to say hi 👋🏼 I’m sorta cheating because this is a photo from last month but I’m wearing Saint Jane’s Sun Ritual sunscreen here and since I’ve been continuously getting messages about it, I thought I’d post this onto the feed with a link to all the (the only?) products I use this summer for anyone who has trouble combing through previous posts.

- @kosas Revealer Concealer and Brow Pop have been in my little makeup bag for over a year+ now. Concealer applies very smoothly and doesn’t seem to dry or budge all day, without drying out my skin. A little bit goes a looong way. Brow Pop pencil formulation really does give realistic brow feathers~ feel like I fill my brows in a lot quicker with this

- @noto_botanics Multi-Bene Color Pot in Ono Ono is always in my bag. I love an easy lip / blush combo product that you can easily build on if needed. Feels just like skin when you have it on, offers a nice healthy dew

- @saiebeauty Mascara 101 wowed me mostly because it’s so easy to wash off but it manages to stay intact even on humid days. It offers good length and thickening like it says

Packing only your favorites / necessities enough for 3-4 months really opens up the eyes to how much one can shed and how much frivolity one surrounds themselves with otherwise. I made sure to pack this line up because they make my skin feel fantastic and balanced and most importantly: happy! I rotate between heavier creams and oils and lighter textures when necessary. I find myself feeling freer, more me, spending less time meticulously applying makeup product after makeup product, taking it off, etc. because the base is already happy. One of the reasons I was really excited to own a house was to finally be able to set up rain barrels. They just make so much sense, especially in drought-prone California where a large portion of the country’s produce is grown- why not alleviate the weight of water shortage and try to capture what you can on your own? I read somewhere once that even a quarter inch of rainfall—which is not very much rain at all—could very easily fill over 250 gallons of runoff water (two of my 50 gallon barrels filled up so surprisingly quickly last year that I sought two more). That’s an incredible amount of energy that will become more useful as we experience more volatile weather conditions due to climate change. Here are just a few environmental and financial advantages of using rain barrels: ⁣

💧Over 30% of water is used for yards, and by collecting rainwater for gardening use, we can save money on our water bill ⁣

I’m generally really skeptical when celebrities slap their names onto skincare products, but so far @mdnaskin (skincare by Madonna’s team) has really exceeded my expectations. They’re formulated in Japan and key ingredients include holy water (from thermal springs in Tuscany!), hyaluronic acid, a bunch of floral extracts, citric and hyaluronic acids, etc. I’m a huge fan of their eye mask and the eye serum in particular, and if I could describe them both succinctly, I could probably get away with saying that the serum feels like angel tears. Angel. Tears. Incredibly softer than anything I’ve tried and it seems to be really effective even though it feels almost completely weightless (which, I’ve only recently learned, is the best texture for products on the under-eye area, as it’s the most sensitive part of your face/skin).
