Middle of the Night is Riley Sager’s latest gripping mystery about grief, letting go, and the guilty feelings surrounding a traumatic event. Written as a dual timeline switching between the present and past, July 1994 flashbacks are perfectly woven into the present, providing excellent character development and aiding the overall mystery of the story. It’s not a crazy twisted thriller like what I experienced when I read Lock Every Door but is a slow burn mystery that picks up pace with more action in the last few chapters.
𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝? ✨ I highly recommend as a page-turner with light-hearted elements not typically seen in thrillers. It offers a great change of pace from the darker mystery thrillers.
