𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐢 𝐇𝐚𝐳𝐞𝐥𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: 3 out of 5 Stars 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞: Contemporary Romance, Chick-Lit, Adult Fiction 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡: 379 pages This was my first Ali Hazelwood book and not what I was expecting based on what others have said about her earlier novels. It had very heavy spice (🌶️🌶️🌶️) and not much substance/emotional connection between the two characters until the last 60-70 pages. In my opinion, the physical connection overpowered the emotional connection, so it felt like there was never a true connection between them. There were also moments that felt rushed in some areas such as Rue’s issue with her brother and the overall pace of the relationship. With that said, I absolutely loved the STEM aspect of the book and the company issue and resolution. Hazelwood did an excellent job in tying everything together in a realistic and fun way. Overall, I enjoyed Not in Love as my first novel by Ali Hazelwood. From what I’ve heard, Not in Love was out of her comfort zone which I totally commend her on - I’m sure it’s not easy to write something so different from what you usually do. Recommend? ✨ If you’re an Ali Hazelwood fan and/or enjoy spice in your books, I would still recommend this one. It’s completely different from her other works which can be a breath of fresh air for the reader. LTKFindsUnder50 LTKHome LTKVideo
