Are you sleeping on a silk pillowcase? It might seem like a bit of an extravagance, but it isn't! Cotton is highly moisture absorbent which means that it tends to drink in all our nice expensive night creams. Cotton also pulls on your skin/hair through the night while silk reduces the friction on your skin and doesn't leave the "pillow impression" on your cheek that you sometimes get when you wake up. Satin might seem like a good compromise, but I would pass on it because it isn't a natural fiber (generally made of a polyester weave). While it's smooth, it isn't breathable like silk. Silk is measured by momme weight so the higher the momme the denser the weave.
