What a difference a day makes! These videos were taken 24 hours apart. After a long time of pondering, I decided on the concept of my room: the backstage dressing room of a burlesque show. What can I say? I’ve always had an affinity for theatrics. I love shiny things and a great theme with creative choreography. I often find myself browsing the internet for vintage showgirl/burlesque costumes as a source of inspiration. When we moved to the new digs, I put up paper towel curtains until I could find something affordable that fit the bill. I wanted the feeling of theater drapes but on a plastic shower curtain budget. Eventually I’ll find some vintage fringe to add to the bottom of the drapes. I wanted bedding that was simple to make up but cozy for flare days in bed. I searched high and low and eventually found a bedding store on @etsy that was in my price range. (Read that last part as under $200!) The seller was a dream to work with and everything is customizable. My sheets and duvet are both from @costco. My nightstands are discontinued @bernhardtfurniture and were the first pieces of furniture I bought for myself. I was in design school at the time and pined over them for years! There’s a long way to go, but it’s amazing what new bedding and draperies will do for a space. LTKFindsUnder50 LTKHome LTKWatchNow
