The first is adding in that element of texture, which I talked through yesterday. Outside of interesting silhouettes, this is a key way to add in visual depth to your outfit, especially when going monochrome like I have here. The cotton trousers are quite a matte, flat fabrication, so adding in the quilted vest and patent shoes helps to lift the look. I personally *love* monochrome outfits like this because having that singular block of colour stretches the silhouette and gives you that sense of length, but also, it creates an impactful look when worn with a contrasting (long) jacket. This helps to create that long and lean look, which I focused on here in particular because as much as I love a cropped pant, that can make you appear shorter if you don’t pair them with a heeled shoe.
