“A full circle moment viewing Florence Scott Libbey’s extensive art collection at the museum. Florence was married to the “father of the glass industry”, Edward Drummond Libbey in 1890. When the museum opened in 1912, Florence donated her entire art collection and after her husband’s passing in 1925, Florence served as trustee and vice president of the Toledo Museum. During the Great Depression Florence financed construction of the music wings of the Museum - keeping over 3,000 people employed!
We offer so many vintage Libbey pieces in our lucid ladybug curations. The name “Florence” is extra special because it was my Mom Mop’s name and it is also the name of the town we currently reside in.”
