Okay, why is it so hard to stand in the exact position every time?! 😂 oh well 🙃 Shelf styling is one of my favorite things to do! It is truly an art. It’s never perfect the first time around and it takes thought, trial and error, and some fun to get it right! But I never back away from a challenge 😏 It’s like a big puzzle trying to make it look intentional and cohesive, which is probably why I like it so much! My tried and true items for shelf styling: -books -artwork -greenery -candles and/or candleholders -pretty decorative objects like bowls, trays, boxes, sculptures, etc. (bonus if it adds texture!) Layering pieces adds more dimension to the shelves and feels intentional. I like to mix larger single pieces on one shelf with multiple smaller pieces on another. Balancing height and shapes of objects is also a consideration. Shelves are also a great place to display family heirlooms and the perfect way to mix old and new. I haven’t changed much in this space except for swapping a few pieces here and there.
