Here are a few tips that we’ve learned and why it’s the perfect time NOW to order and meaningfully tie your butterfly garden to the Easter story 💜 1. You will order a kit and then redeem the voucher for your caterpillars that comes in the kit (caterpillars ship separately). From the time you order the larvae, the process can take up to 5 weeks (1-2 weeks to get the larvae and about 3 weeks to grow the butterflies). 2. Easter is April 20th this year so ordering now will allow you to see butterflies (of course not 100% predictable) CLOSE to or around Easter. Here are some beautiful parallels you can talk to your kids about as you watch the butterfly journey and approach Easter: The life cycle of a butterfly can remind us of the Easter story. It starts as a caterpillar. A caterpillar is part of God’s creation here on Earth. Did you know that Jesus came and lived on Earth among God’s people? The chrysalis stage is when the caterpillar closes up in a cocoon to transform. This points us to Christ’s death and burial in the tomb. But that isn’t the end for the butterfly, right? Jesus also died but that is not the end of the story either. After he died on the cross he was buried in a tomb for 3 days and THEN… When the butterfly emerges from the empty chrysalis, it reminds us of the disciples Easter morning as they saw Jesus’ grave clothes lying in the tomb. He was not there…JESUS IS RISEN! Jesus’ resurrection from the grave is proof to us that death is not the end! As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, we delight in our own assurance of God’s ultimate victory over death! “…by his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also” 1 Corinthians 6:14 LTKKids LTKSpringSale LTKFamily
