DIY Christmas ornaments! I made three types of ornaments in this video: 1) antique gold, 2) flocked blue, 3) crystallized. For the exact steps and items I used in making the antique gold ornaments, refer to my previous video. Below are the steps for the flocked and crystallized ornaments⬇️
FLOCKED:
1) I painted one layer of navy acrylic paint (you can use whatever color you like).
2) I wanted a darker shade of navy, so when the first layer dried, I combined a bit of black paint with navy for a darker shade and painted that on my ornament.
3) Sprinkle baking soda all around (you can also use corn starch if you don’t have baking soda).
4) if you want a more smooth appearance, just shake off the excess baking soda. If you want a more textured look, use a paintbrush to give it some texture.
4) Add a ribbon and hang on your tree😍
CRYSTALLIZED:
1) With a paintbrush, paint the outer layer of the ornament with Glitter It glue (linked below).
2) Sprinkle German glitter in the outer part of the ornament. It helps to work over a funnel that pours into a cup as demonstrated in the video.
3) Let it dry for a few hours and repeat the steps filling in any gaps so it looks super sparkly✨
** If you want to take it a step further, you can start by spray painting the ornament gold and adding the sparkles after. That way, if you have any gaps of glitter, it’ll blend in with the gold background.
