"How do you keep all of your light furniture bright and your rugs clean with all of those kids?"
I get asked this question anytime I show my home. With 7 kids and 2 goldens, the odds are stacked against me that I could pull off a neutral home that stays clean... and is seen in magazines and TV.
Through a lot of trial error, I've found 5 great tips/tools to keep our home fresh!
1. Get upholstery with performance or Revolution fabrics. They are designed for repetitive cleanings and repel stains.
2. Use throw blankets to cover arms of couches and chairs that are high traffic zones in your home. I'll link my favorite blanket in stories.
3. Blue Dawn Dish Soap. It's a secret weapon for many fabrics. Pee, puke, marker... it's magical.
4. Get the Bissell Pro Heat 2x Revolution Pet Pro Carpet Cleaner. It doesn't matter if you don't have a pet. You need it. We use this on our couches, upholstered chairs, rugs and even mattresses when kids have accidents! We don't get anything professionally cleaned anymore. We just use this! See videos. Everyone's tanks look this bad!
5. Another Bissell gem... the Crosswave All-in-One Wet/Dry Vacuum. This cordless mop vacuums and mops at the same time. It sucks up the dirt on wood, tile or laminate floors instead of spreading it around like other mops. When you have clean floors, you have a better change of having clean rugs.
There you have... a busy mom's guide to keeping a fresh home!
