When adding two accent chairs don’t feel like they have to be the same.
Mixing styles is a great way to add visual interest to your design. This layout has a leather sofa combined with two different mixed-material chairs. The dark wood on this chair adds contrast while the rattan coloring ties back to the sofa and other wood tones. You can get this chair from Crate and Barrel for $1400 or a similar look from Walmart for $468. The rattan barrel chair retails for $1000 but it’s currently on sale for $800. Walmart has this version for $790 with an interesting cut-out back detail. It’s perfect for open floor plans where you can leave the back exposed to admire its beauty. The crate and barrel style is also available in a swivel chair version that has a similar feeling to the best-seller birdcage chair from Walmart that goes for $274.

One way to make your living room look expensive is with a bench seat sofa. Unlike traditional styles with multiple cushions, a bench seat sofa has one solid cushion for a seamless, luxurious look. It has a tailored modern silhouette that’s the perfect foundation for most any design style.

Both the sofas in my home have a bench seat cushion. I love that no matter where you sit you don’t have a seam under your bum so more perople can sit comfortably. No need to worry about loosing your change because there isn’t a crack for it to fall through.

At Crate and Barrel you’ll find bench seat sofas in everything from cozy plush fabrics like velvet or boucle to linen for a touch of elegance.

For example Aris and Willow are available in multiple sizes and fabrics for over $1500 but you can get a similar look for less for as little as $400 from Walmart.

Adding a bar cabinet or cart in your living room will upgrade the look while adding a touch of classic glamour.
It’s the perfect spot to organize and style your favorite glasses, cocktail shakers, decorative bottles, and alcohol collection.
If you’re not into alcohol it can also be used as a coffee, tea station, or decorative display shelf instead.
This is another thing we added to our sitting room. We removed the old basement bar and brought all the alcohol upstairs. Now everything is organized and easily accessible. The styling and decor add to the sitting room vibe.
A bar cart will give you a similar look which I did consider but I didn't want to have to deal with constantly dusting it.
