I use a 3ml syringe to feed Ralphie baby food and water. If he's more cooperative then I can use a 20ml syringe (also linked).
Tip 1: I have a small dog so it helps to lay him on my lap to syringe feed him. He is a 12 pound Shih Tzu with Chronic Kidney Disease (now at Stage 3).
Tip 2: Place the syringe further back on the tongue to ensure he swallows versus spitting up eah 1-1.5ml of food. Pause in between to allow swallowing and if they start to spit up then stop and try again later.
Very Important: Syringe feed at a slow and steady pace. I can usually feed him 1 jar of baby food in about 10 minutes (and even faster if I can use the 20ml syringe).
