Peppermint bark is one of my FAVORITE treats this time of year and it’s SO easy to make. You can make a batch to enjoy this season or put them in jars and add some ribbon to them for an easy homemade gift! 🎁 ❤️
What you’ll need:
❤️2 cups dark chocolate chips
❤️2 cups white chocolate chips
❤️1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract
❤️crushed candy canes
❤️half sheet pan
❤️parchment paper
Instructions:
❤️Line your half sheet pan with parchment paper
❤️Melt dark chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between. Watch it carefully so you don’t burn the chocolate! This is the only time consuming part.
❤️Once the dark chocolate is melted, stir in peppermint extract (you can split this in half and do 1/4 teaspoon in the dark chocolate and 1/4 in the white chocolate, up to you!)
❤️Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the parchment lined sheet pan & use a spatula to spread it into an even layer.
❤️Place the pan in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes, until the chocolate is firm.
❤️Next, repeat the melting process with the white chocolate!
❤️Pour the white chocolate over the chilled dark chocolate layer. Spread it out to cover the dark chocolate evenly.
❤️Sprinkle the crushed candy canes over the top of the white chocolate & chill again until set
❤️Once it’s chilled, break it into pieces….enjoy or put into jars for gifts!
