Upstate I ordered this beautiful book through my local bookstore about a month ago. So excited to go through each and every page, admiring the eclectic spaces of each unique home. Who knew I’d be so heartbroken only a few weeks later when I got the call it was ready to be picked up. Or the fact that this book would be a reminder of a place I loved escaping to. You see, I could easily be triggered or really upset by this, but I’ve been working on that. I have certainly left a piece of my heart in Upstate. Some days it hurts so much to talk or even think about the fact that everything is different now. But instead of being sad I’m choosing to be brave, put a smile on and remind myself of all the happy memories I made in New York over the last year. I’m far from perfect and have made my fair share of mistakes. And this book is just that, a beautiful reminder that there’s beauty in imperfection.
