It’s trench coat season! While I love my field jacket (see my last post), when the weather warms up and I need to dress things up a bit, I reach for a classic trench coat. It’s a classic style that is a wardrobe staple you can have in your closet for years and it will still look great. One of my favourite spring, summer, and fall staples is the field (or utility) jacket. Lightweight and easy to style, it’s one of the jackets I reach for most as the weather starts to warm up. Do you have a favourite foundation? I have a few, depending on what kind of coverage I’m looking for.

For full coverage, I love @givenchybeauty Prisme Libre Skin Caring Matte Foundation or @esteelauder Double Wear Foundation. Both offer great coverage and last all day. If I want to have more of a medium finish, I mix these with a bit of moisturizer.

For light coverage, especially in the summer months, I love @smashbox Halo Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturizer or @tula Brightening Serum Skin Tint (unfortunately not available in Canada yet) for a lit-from-within look and dewy finish that works great for warmer months.

Spring transition styling season is here! What does that mean? Well, it’s freezing in the morning but balmy by noon. That means I’m pairing some of my favourite fall winter sweaters with spring favourites like flats and cropped jeans (clearly my favourite denim style at the moment). I cropped these jeans myself (I linked the exact bootcut pair) and love that they’re slightly flared at the bottom. This sweater is older (we’re talking pre-pandemic) but I’ve linked some similar styles.

Experimenting with cropped jeans and ankle boots for late winter/early spring. This style has been a hard one for me to jump on board with, not because I don’t love it, but because it doesn’t feel like something I would normally wear. It’s out of my comfort zone and anyone who knows me can attest to the fact that I do NOT like to be out of my comfort zone. But sometimes we have to overcome the doubt and take a risk (yes, there’s. Life lesson in there).

My sweater is older from @zara but I’ve found some similar versions and everything is linked.

Three classic fragrances for spring. These ones have been in my rotation for years and then never disappoint.

@givenchybeauty Live Irrésistible is a fruity floral with notes of rose and citrus.
@guccibeauty Bamboo is a fresh floral that features bergamot (my fave!) and ylang-ylang.
@tocca Florence is my all-time favourite perfume. Totally affordable and so perfect, this green floral scent features bergamot, pear, apple, and grapefruit.

Yes, there’s still snow on the ground, but I’m thinking about spring fashion, just like everyone else. Flares are definitely everywhere and these ones from @spanx are the BEST. The pull-on style is so comfortable and still looks so polished.

Sharing a few tips for Spanx denim sizing:
• Take your normal Spanx legging size (I’m a Medium).
• If you’re 5’6 or shorter and don’t plan on wearing sky-high heels, I recommend the petite version (there’s also a tall version). If you’re good with higher heels, you can go with the normal version.
• Definitely don’t size up. These jeans have tons of stretch.

Two of my favourite things - cozy cardigans and cropped jeans. Like my favourite light wash ones, these jeans were originally a boot cut style and I cut them to the length I wanted. I’ve had a hard time finding the right cropped jeans, so this has been the best solution for me. I paired them with this super soft button front cardigan for the easiest Thursday outfit. Get ready with me for a regular Wednesday - featuring cozy and soft favourite. This sweater was on my Christmas list and it’s so good. Cozy and soft and the perfect length and now, it’s on sale!

These are the classic @oldnavy bootcut jeans but I cut them off to make them cropped and distressed and I love them. They are so comfy I don’t even miss my leggings when I wear them!

While I’ve found some dupes, I can’t link these exact booties. But I had to share that I dyed them at home, taking them from a slightly too orange shade to this rich chocolate brown and I’m so happy with how they turned out. I’ll share the details on how I dyed them this weekend.

Hello 2023! I’m approaching the year 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 carefully and hoping to not startle it into being a crazy one. 🤪

December was very busy, but also filled with much-needed family time. Callum is finally back to school today, so we’ll be hopefully settling back into a routine that will be much more conducive to regular posting.
